The number of blogs written by widows and widowers has grown dramatically over the years since I started Crash Course Widow. By no means is this a complete list, nor is it an endorsement of any kind; they're simply some of the blogs I've run across or that I've been asked to list. Some I read regularly; many I don't read at all. I don't update this page terribly often, so some blogs may be inactive or deleted since I first listed them.

While many of the issues of grief are the same regardless of when or how the death occurred, it also helped me immensely to find people whose paths and timelines were more similar to mine. And since Widow Brain can run so rampant in the first years of grief, I'm helping you out a bit by grouping the blogs by year and general life circumstances (kids, no kids, widowers, etc.).

Note on 5/31/11: Supa Dupa Fresh (a.k.a., Robin Moore, who blogs at Fresh Widow) has an AMAZING, long, detailed list of blogs written by widows and widowers. I stopped seeking out new blogs a good year or two ago; hence, my listing here is pretty sparse for newer widows. But check out Supa's blogroll. She's got a TON listed for 2009 and 2010…and I bet she'll have a number for 2011 before too long. She lists far more blogs than I do.
